Victoria College
Founded in 1836, Victoria College is one of Canada’s oldest and most distinguished institutions of higher learning. Originally established as the Upper Canada Academy and later renamed in honour of Queen Victoria, the college has played a pivotal role in shaping Canadian education for nearly two centuries. Guided by the vision of Reverend Egerton Ryerson, Victoria helped lay the foundations of Ontario’s modern education system before joining the University of Toronto in 1890.
